I used to chop ashawo – Gospel minister Yaw Siki reflects on his wild past

Former Ghanaian hiplife artist Yaw Siki has transformed into a gospel minister. Recently, he made a surprising confession during an interview with DrPounds on Pounds TV.

In the interview, Yaw Siki opened up about his chaotic past. He described a life filled with sex addiction, substance abuse, and spiritual emptiness. His journey to finding purpose began through faith.

“I used to chop ashawo and I was addicted to porno,” he said. Many were shocked by his honesty. He explained that his obsession with adult content led to chronic masturbation.

“At one point, I wanted to sleep with girls but couldn’t,” he shared. This frustration contributed to his addiction.

Yaw Siki also identified as a hedonist in Tema’s music scene. He was deeply involved in alcohol and marijuana use. “I was a heavy drinker,” he admitted confidently.

He emphasized that he shares his past not out of shame or guilt. “I’m not ashamed to say it now because they are no more,” he stated. He feels detached from his old life and wants others to know about his change.
