Blakk Rasta, a Ghanaian musician and radio presenter, advocates for the use of Pidgin English in parliament to improve public understanding of parliamentary discussions.
He believes the use of “big English” creates a communication barrier, and Pidgin would make proceedings more accessible.
Blakk Rasta highlighted figures like A Plus and Baba Sadiq who already use Pidgin and urged for more relatable discourse.
Additionally, he revealed he considered leaving Ghana before the last election, frustrated with the NPP government.
He traveled to Jamaica and the U.S., planning an exit in case the party retained power, likening his stance to Wole Soyinka's vow during Donald Trump’s election.
