Dancehall musician Shatta Wale has criticized Ghana harshly. He expressed a desire to leave the country and gain Nigerian citizenship.
His comments came after backlash over his collaboration with Nigerian influencer Peller. Wale feels frustrated by how successful people are treated in Ghana.
He said, “Nigerians please tell President Tinubu or your government so I get a Nigerian passport. This is a toilet country because they don’t appreciate successful people.”
Wale added that he wants to sell his house in Ghana and buy properties in Nigeria. He also requested a Nigerian name, calling Ghana a "stupid country."
The artist lamented the skepticism surrounding his achievements. He stated, “If I buy a house they will say it is not mine. Even when I bought my new car, they said it’s not mine.”
Shatta Wale's frustration follows criticism for hosting Peller in Ghana. The influencer has been enjoying Wale’s hospitality since arriving.
Wale shared moments of their time together on social media. This drew mixed reactions from fans and critics alike.
