Reggie Zippy, a popular UK-based Ghanaian musician, recently shared his frustrations on social media. He described ongoing "torture" from his ex-wife, Edith Ward.
In an emotional Facebook post, he discussed the difficulties he faces after their divorce. He particularly mentioned challenges with his children and their strained relationship.
Reggie wrote, “Maybe when I speak Twi or any other Ghanaian language, her family will tell her to stop turning my children against me.” He highlighted the struggles he has faced in trying to create a peaceful co-parenting environment.
Despite his efforts to reconcile and be a positive influence, he feels ongoing resistance. He believes this situation involves "parental alienation" and "character assassination."
He expressed that speaking out was necessary for him. “Feel free to mock and vilify me,” he said. “I spoke the truth of my reality before my last breath.”
Reggie emphasized that he is at peace with his life. However, attempts to sabotage his relationship with his children leave him feeling helpless.
“I am alright with my own life,” he confessed. “But the continual sabotage of my children’s love for me always blasts in my face.”
He also reflected on how these issues might affect his legacy. He worries that false narratives will spread about him after he's gone.
“The lies and fabrications that would be spewed against me make me want to tell my own story,” he stated. “I don’t have anyone to publicly defend my name apart from Sally Mann and some relatives.”
