Kwabena Badu, father of rising star Yaw Darling, has revealed he never envisioned his son as a musician.
In a recent interview, Mr. Badu shared that he initially hoped Yaw would become a footballer due to his early talent in the sport.
Despite this, he expressed pride in his son’s achievements in music. Yaw Darling, who lived with his aunt after losing his mother, is now nominated in the Unsung Artiste category at the 26th TGMA.
His viral hit “PASSWORD” has gained traction online, fueling a dance challenge led by DanceLord and earning strong streaming numbers.
Mr. Badu encouraged his son to stay humble, avoid bad company, and remain grounded in faith.
Yaw’s UK tour earlier this year further cemented his growing global appeal.
