Gospel artiste Cwesi Oteng has revealed that his breakthrough into the music scene was met with spiritual and industry attacks from some fellow gospel musicians.
Speaking on Joy Prime’s Changes, he recalled how his unique sound triggered envy and resistance, with some even allegedly taking his debut album to cemeteries in a bid to halt his success.
Songs like I Win and God Dey Bless Me became instant hits, but Oteng said the backlash affected his career momentum. He admitted that the hostility caused him to step back to recharge and prioritize his well-being.
“Stardom isn’t everything. I needed to take care of myself,” he said.
Cwesi is now back with a new single, *Favour*, encouraging believers to declare God’s blessings over their lives confidently.
