Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown has shared a lesser-known chapter of her life—her deportation from the United States.
According to her, she was a skilled hairdresser, and her late uncle, Papa Kofi McBrown, invited her to the U.S. to pursue a career in hairstyling.
However, she unknowingly traveled with an illegal passport, leading to her arrest and deportation in January 2001. This incident resulted in a visa ban that has lasted over 20 years.
Back in Ghana, she settled in Kumasi and later auditioned for a role with Miracle Films, launching her successful acting career.
Her journey serves as an inspiration, proving that setbacks can lead to greater opportunities.
