Beyoncé and Jay-Z are one of the world's most famous couples. They have a well-known family, including their daughter Blue Ivy, 13, and twins Rumi and Sir, who are seven.

Tina Knowles, Beyoncé's mother, worries about fame affecting her grandchildren. She wishes they could avoid the challenges that come with it.

Knowles, 71, believes the children are not overly exposed to fame yet. However, she fears they will eventually see negative things written about them. "I do worry about that," she says.

Despite these concerns, Knowles praises Beyoncé and Jay-Z as parents. She says they spend a lot of time with their kids. "They have great relationships with their children," she adds.

Knowles describes them as "great parents." She believes you couldn't ask for better ones.

She spoke to BBC News ahead of her new memoir release titled *Matriarch*. The book discusses her childhood in Texas and her daughters' rise to fame.

Knowles now has four grandchildren. This includes Julez Smith, Solange's son. She also considers herself a grandmother to Kelly Rowland's children from Destiny’s Child.
