Idris Elba meets Mahama on plans to set up Ultra-Modern film village near Osu castle

Idris Elba, a famous British actor and filmmaker, is in Ghana. He proposed a collaboration with the government. The goal is to build a modern film and creative village. This village would be near Osu Castle in Accra.

The project aims to revitalize the film industry. It will also train and employ creatives in Ghana. Idris Elba met with President John Mahama at Jubilee House. He expressed his commitment to promoting African stories.

“We want to build this with you,” he said. “We know you are focused on creative opportunities.” Elba emphasized their dedication to boosting Ghana's creative sector.

President Mahama supported the project and offered suggestions. He noted that the old castle should not be changed too much. “We just have to restore it,” he said, referring to its long abandonment.
