Former MP for Ablekuma Central, Ebenezer Nartey, supports Rev. John Ntim Fordjour. Fordjour is the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee. He faces controversy over allegations about two aircraft in Ghana.
Nartey spoke on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning. He believes Fordjour has credible information. “I will be extremely surprised if he had no facts,” Nartey said. He added that Fordjour wouldn’t hold a press conference without evidence.
Fordjour provided details about the planes’ arrival times and dates. This issue has raised public concern. President John Mahama tweeted for security agencies to investigate quickly.
However, Nartey criticized the lack of action from these agencies. “We have not heard if investigations have begun,” he stated. He compared this case to previous summons by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
“Recently, the Speaker of Parliament contacted the NIB about A Plus and Yussif,” he noted. “Why can’t they do the same for Rev. Fordjour? This is serious; we’re talking about drugs and money laundering.”
Nartey urged President Mahama to take action in this matter. “Before electing the Speaker, Mahama instructed his people to vote for Bagbin,” he said. “Why can’t he call the Speaker now to prioritize this?”
He called on Mahama’s administration to reassure the public quickly. “Ghanaians expect the President to ensure security agencies investigate thoroughly.” He also asked Fordjour if he would cooperate with investigators; Fordjour agreed to provide more information.
