Interior Minister tasks police to crackdown 'Tinker Island,' a popular drug den in Kumasi

The Interior Minister, Muntaka Mubarak, has given a directive to the Ashanti Regional Police. He wants them to act quickly against "Tinker Island." This location is one of the most notorious drug dens in Kumasi.

"Tinker Island" is known for illegal drug trade and abuse. It has raised concerns among residents and law enforcement for some time. The area attracts dealers and users from across the city.

During a meeting with the police command, Mubarak highlighted the den's role in drug distribution. He noted that it contributes to rising drug-related crime and violence in Kumasi. Drug operations are reportedly happening openly there.

Muntaka Mubarak has instructed the police to eliminate this den within six months. He criticized previous efforts that failed to remove drug dealers from the area.
