'Iron Boy': Black Sherif's 15-song 2nd album to be released on April 3

Black Sherif is set to release his second album. His first album, The Villain I Never Was, was a success in 2022. The new album is titled Iron Boy and will come out on April 3, 2025.

Iron Boy features 15 tracks. It includes three singles: January 9, Rebel Music, and So It Goes. So It Goes features Nigerian Afrobeats star Fireboy DML. January 9 and Rebel Music are Hiphop anthems about opposition and dominance. In contrast, So It Goes explores softer themes of love.

Fans can expect familiar quality from these hits. Casual listeners will also enjoy the growth of Black Sherif since his breakout hit, First Sermon in 2021. He continues to surprise with his evolving sound.

The title Iron Boy connects to Ghana’s Highlife genre. This genre inspired half of Sherif's music foundation. The name references a popular 90s Highlife song by Amakye Dede. As part of the album rollout, Sherif visited Dede and shared photos online.

On March 26, 2025, a trailer for Iron Boy was released. It hints at the artist's thoughts leading up to the release date. The trailer opens with a butler reading a newspaper celebrating the album's success. Later scenes show Black Sherif as a lord in a castle surrounded by mountains while managing paparazzi attention.
