It was unfair to destroy Leslie’s Fantasy Dome – Okraku-Mantey

Deputy Tourism Minister Mark Okraku-Mantey has criticized the dismantling of the Fantasy Dome at the Trade Fair site, expressing dissatisfaction over its destruction.

He argued the prefabricated structure could have been removed without damage, calling the outcome "unfair."

However, the Trade Fair, outside his ministry’s control, undertook the demolition for redevelopment after giving eight notices to Fantasy Dome owner Leslie Quaynor.

CEO Dr. Agnes Adu claimed Quaynor refused to vacate despite 15 months of warnings.

Quaynor countered, stating he sought a court injunction to prevent demolition and had plans to relocate.

The March 2024 demolition marked a significant loss for Ghana's entertainment industry, as the 20,000-seat dome was a key event venue.
