Ja Rule tours National Museum ahead of Nuaso school commissioning 

American rapper and philanthropist Ja Rule is back in Ghana. He is reaffirming his commitment to education. This comes ahead of the commissioning of a six-unit classroom block for Nuaso Anglican Primary School in the Eastern Region.

Ja Rule initiated this project last year. He partnered with the non-profit organization Pencils of Promise (PoP). The goal is to improve learning conditions for young students.

Before the commissioning, Ja Rule toured Ghana’s National Museum. He reflected on the project's significance and his connection to Ghana. “Education is something I’m really passionate about,” he said.

He wants to build more facilities, including a gymnasium. These spaces will enhance learning for kids.

Ja Rule has visited Ghana multiple times. He believes Ghanaian culture shapes African identity globally. During his museum tour, he was moved by slavery's history, calling it heartbreaking.

“It broke my heart,” he admitted. He emphasized remembering history while working toward a brighter future.

When asked about music, Ja Rule hinted at an Afrobeats collaboration. He acknowledged the genre’s rapid global rise. “I actually did something with a Ghanaian artist over 15 years ago,” he shared.

He noted that Afrobeats is big now and gaining control. “Maybe I might hop on,” he revealed about future projects.

Describing his musical journey, he used three words: “Promising, tough, and fulfilling.”

As he looks forward to tomorrow’s event, Ja Rule encourages artists to create positive change. “We have a platform; it’s important to use it for real impact,” he emphasized.

Leslie Engle, CEO of Pencils of Promise, spoke about the project’s impact. She described it as transformative with long-term benefits for the community.

“This is more than just a school building—it’s an investment in the future,” she stated. They plan many more projects globally, focusing on education for young girls.
