Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, has denied allegations that the rapper sexually assaulted a woman, known as Jane Doe, in 2000 alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs.
At a private meeting, Spiro described the claims as “a fantasy,” presenting a PowerPoint timeline to demonstrate inconsistencies in Doe’s story.
The lawsuit was initially filed against Combs in October, with Jay-Z’s name added in an amended complaint.
Doe accused Jay-Z of raping her when she was 13 at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty.
However, she acknowledged inconsistencies in her account during an NBC interview.
Spiro emphasized that these discrepancies arise because the event “never happened.”
Doe’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, defended his client, stating the claims were vetted by his firm.
Spiro accused Buzbee of extorting money from celebrities, while Buzbee labeled these accusations “baseless.”
Jay-Z, according to Spiro, is upset by the allegations, as they detract from real victims' voices and impact his family.
Spiro reiterated that Jay-Z is not connected to the civil allegations against Combs, distancing the rapper from the case.
The legal team plans to request dismissal of the lawsuit and disciplinary action against Buzbee.
