On March 29, 2025, hundreds of Joy FM listeners joined the Accra High Street Walking Tour. This event marked the end of a month-long celebration of Ghana’s culture and tourism.
The walking tour began at Osu Castle, once the seat of government. Participants visited several sites, including the Arts Centre and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. They also explored Makola Market, Ussher Fort, Kingsway Trading Centre, Brazil House, and Light House.
After the tour, everyone gathered at Trust Sports Emporium for a kenkey party. DJ Fantastic provided music for the attendees to enjoy.
Edem Knight-Tay, Joy FM's Programmes Manager, said the walk aimed to promote exercise and help people learn about Accra. This aligns with Joy FM’s goal to boost domestic tourism in Ghana.
A week earlier, Joy FM hosted a three-day tour called ‘Volta Adventure’. This took place from March 21 to March 23, 2025. The group visited Kpando Lakeview Zipline and Mount Gemi during this trip. They also explored Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary and Amedzofe Waterfalls.
At Volta Serene Hotel, guests participated in various activities for entertainment. They showcased their dance skills while enjoying music from a borborbor ensemble. There were also nightclub sessions and movie nights.
Before returning to Accra, they visited Dodi World at Akosombo. Onboard the Dodi Princess II boat, they enjoyed live band music along with food and drinks.
Earlier that month, Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z held a Ga-themed conversation at Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. The event discussed the history of the Ga people and their contributions to tourism.
Throughout March, Joy FM focused on promoting Ghanaian music and culture in its programs. The show 'Focus on Ghana' highlighted historical facts about Ghana's culture and arts.
Ghana Month on Joy FM received support from Serene Insurance and other sponsors like Volta Serene Hotel and Trust Sports Emporium.
