Highlife star KK Fosu, a member of the iconic 2000s Hiplife group Trinity (with Samini and Kokoveli), credits himself and peers for making Hiplife appealing to older generations.
Speaking on Accra 100.5 FM, he highlighted how the genre, blending Ghana's Highlife with American Hip-hop, became a cultural phenomenon, despite early criticism.
Fosu emphasized Trinity's role in popularizing Ragga in Ghana and acknowledged Hiplife's foundational impact on modern Afrobeats.
He praised pioneers like Reggie Rockstone, who created the genre, and lauded its evolution from a misunderstood style to a celebrated institution.
