Kofi Okyere-Darko (KOD), a renowned Ghanaian media personality and entrepreneur, shared his journey to fame on Accra 100.5 FM.
He began as a copywriter and production assistant under Kwesi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) at KDS before joining Radio Gold in 1997, where he learned broadcasting on the job.
Mentored by industry icons like Kwame Sefa Kayi, KOD rose to prominence through his passion for promoting Hiplife, despite facing challenges such as a suspension for playing Rap music.
His support for Hiplife helped lay the foundation for the global Afrobeats movement.
A long-time Ghana Music Awards board member, KOD credits his success to perseverance and mentorship, emphasizing the sacrifices required to revolutionize Ghana’s music and media landscape.
