Koby Maxwell laments drop in Ghanaian music standards

Ghanaian musician and actor Koby Maxwell has concerns about recent music quality in Ghana.

In a chat on Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio, he shared his thoughts.

Koby reflected on the differences between his generation's music and today's.

He noted that his time focused on meaningful lyrics. In contrast, today’s music emphasizes beats over substance.

“I think that the music people wanted to hear was what your lyrics were about,” he said. “Now it has come to people driven to the beats.”

He expressed shock at the lack of filter in modern Ghanaian music. Some lyrics can be insulting or nonsensical, he added.
