Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi, Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs at the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), received an award last night. This honor recognized his contributions to the Tour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA). Mrs. Alisa Osei-Asamoah, the former TOUGHA president, presented the award during a thanksgiving dinner. The event celebrated her four years of leadership in the union.
Mr. Kusi received a citation for enhancing TOUGHA’s visibility and partnerships. The citation praised his media expertise and connections. It stated that he significantly amplified TOUGHA’s presence in the industry. His strategic media guidance shaped positive narratives about their work.
The citation also highlighted Mr. Kusi's role at GTA. His position strengthened TOUGHA’s collaboration with key institutions. His professionalism and commitment have been vital to the union's success.
Mr. Kusi has a strong academic background and industry experience. He graduated from Prempeh College and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Ghana, Legon. In 2020, he obtained a Master of Arts in Public Relations from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (now UNIMAC-GIJ). He completed an MBA in Marketing at Methodist University College Ghana in 2022 and holds a Certificate in Tourism Management from the University of Johannesburg.
His career in tourism spans over ten years. From 2010 to 2014, he was Board Secretary for GTA's Board of Directors. He then served as Special Assistant to CEO Charles Osei Bonsu until 2017. In 2018, Mr. Kusi became Deputy Head of Corporate Affairs and was promoted to Deputy Director, Domestic Marketing in early 2024.
Mr. Kusi is known for his Pan-African values and national pride. He has contributed significantly to various national tourism committees and programs, promoting Ghana’s tourism sector.
