Koo Fori granted ₵320K bail after pleading not guilty to $50K fraud

Samuel Karikari, known as Koo Ofori from ‘Efiewura’, has been granted bail. He was given ₵320,000 after pleading not guilty to fraud charges. He is accused of defrauding a US-based Ghanaian of $50,000.

On May 12, Koo Ofori appeared in the Dansoman Circuit Court. He had been arrested by the Accra Central Police Command on Friday. A viral video showed him handcuffed at the court.

The case was rescheduled to May 12, 2025. The court did not convene as planned. Koo Ofori faces charges of defrauding under false pretenses.

He was granted bail with three sureties. Reports say he defrauded a U.S.-based Ghanaian out of $50,000. The victim in California transferred this amount for an investment opportunity.

However, Koo Ofori allegedly took the money and did not fulfill any commitments. Court documents reveal he missed payments and failed to appear in court on April 17, 2025.
