Ghanaian artiste Kuami Eugene has announced that all proceeds from his tribute rendition of ‘Awoo Mawugné’ will go to the family of the late singer, Omar B.
The original hitmaker of the Ewe classic passed away recently, sparking a wave of tributes across the music industry.
Kuami Eugene, who reintroduced the song to a younger audience through his performance, revealed his intention to honour Omar B’s legacy by directly supporting his loved ones. He emphasized that his version was done out of respect and love for the music, not for personal gain.
Fans and fellow musicians have praised the gesture as a rare act of humility and solidarity in the industry.
The donation is expected to help the late singer’s family during this difficult time.
