Lali x Lola appeals to Communication Minister over Boomplay issues

Ghanaian music duo Lali X Lola has reached out to Minister Samuel Nartey George. They seek help regarding unpaid streaming revenue from Boomplay, a digital music platform.

Lali X Lola claims their distributors have not received any payments since April 2023. They have tried multiple times to engage with Boomplay without success.

The duo is concerned about transparency and fair compensation for Ghanaian artists. They stated that withholding payments exploits creative talent in Ghana.

They highlighted the importance of platforms like Boomplay for artists. Such platforms help musicians reach fans and grow their careers.

Creating and promoting music requires time, effort, and money. Often, artists invest their own funds into their work. It is unfair when they do not receive revenue for their efforts.

Lali X Lola urged the Minister to investigate this issue. They want better regulatory oversight for digital service providers in Ghana's creative economy.

They believe the Minister can introduce measures to protect Ghanaian creatives. The duo expressed confidence in his commitment to digital fairness and innovation.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, manager Kimathi shared updates. Although they removed their catalog from Boomplay, they want a meeting with the platform.

They hope this will prevent further issues for other Ghanaian artists. The music community is waiting for the Minister's response to this appeal. They hope it leads to fair compensation for all artists involved.
