Lali X Lola stated that their distributors have not received payments since April 2023. They have tried repeatedly to engage with Boomplay but received no reliable accounting or revenue.

The duo expressed worries about transparency and fair compensation for Ghanaian artists. They believe withholding payments exploits creative talent in Ghana.

In their statement, Lali x Lola highlighted the importance of platforms like Boomplay. These platforms help artists reach fans and grow digitally.

They noted that making and promoting music is challenging and costly. It requires time, effort, and significant financial investment from artists themselves. Denying musicians revenue for their work feels unjust and disheartening to them.
