Let the battle begin – Bimbo Ademoye to Ghanaian TV stations

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has issued a warning to Ghanaian TV stations. She accuses them of airing her films without permission.

In a video shared on social media, she stated that she no longer wants to negotiate or accept compensation for the unauthorized use of her work.

“That TV station in Ghana, I’m talking to you. Don’t show my movies. I haven’t given you permission,” she said emphatically.

She added, “Before, I used to say, ‘Let’s discuss and share,’ but now, I don’t want your money.”

Bimbo's comments reflect frustration in Nigeria’s film industry over copyright violations. This issue is particularly concerning in foreign markets.

She expressed her determination to protect her intellectual property. “Let the battle begin,” she declared. “I will not let anyone profit off my blood, sweat, and sleepless nights.”

Her remarks align with similar complaints from other Nollywood figures. Ruth Kadiri and Omoni Oboli have also accused some Ghanaian media outlets of broadcasting Nigerian films without authorization.
