Living as gay in Ghana means living in secrecy - Charlie Dior

Charlie Dior Charlie Dior

Charlie Dior, on the Girls Aloud podcast, discussed the dangers of being linked to the LGBTQ community in Ghana.

He revealed the societal hostility and risks, stating he wouldn’t openly declare himself gay due to the threat of mob violence.

Dior criticized the stigma against LGBTQ individuals in Ghana, emphasizing the life-threatening implications of persistent questions about his sexuality.

Despite visiting inclusive cities globally, he maintains that his sexual identity is private and no one else’s business.

Dior highlighted the silent struggles of many Ghanaians forced to hide their identities out of fear and called for empathy to break the cycle of judgment and discrimination.
