Lupe Fiasco brings rap to the Ivy League level at Johns Hopkins University

Lupe Fiasco, renowned rapper and lyricist, will join Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Institute as a Distinguished Visiting Professor in Fall 2025.

He will teach Rap in a groundbreaking new 4-year Hip Hop Degree Program, led by Professor Wendel Patrick.

This marks a historic step in integrating Hip Hop into academic spaces.

Lupe, already a lecturer at MIT and a fellow at Yale, expressed his excitement about contributing to the prestigious Peabody Institute's legacy.

He aims to elevate Rap as a scholarly discipline while continuing his roles at MIT and Yale.
