MC Portfolio reveals relationship with Shatta Wale before getting to know Stonebwoy

MC Portfolio has shared that he had a relationship with Shatta Wale. This was before he met Shatta's rival, Stonebwoy. He spoke about this on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo.

Portfolio was introduced to Shatta Wale by DJ Andy Dosty. He said, “If you want to come to Kumasi, you’d have to come through me.”

He worked as the PR for Shatta Wale's song "Ahodwo Las Vegas" in 2020. Andy Dosty told Shatta to connect with him for events in the Ashanti Region. Portfolio built a rapport with Shatta and suggested artists like King Paluta.

Paluta was not well-known nationally but was popular in Ashanti Region. Shatta liked the Kumerican movement and wanted to support it. Portfolio also mentioned Amerado, who had more recognition at that time.

However, Shatta already had ties with YPee. Portfolio also suggested Kofi Jamar and others during their discussions. He felt criticized for not taking sides in the rivalry between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

He explained that while helping Stonebwoy win an award, he still had ties with Shatta Wale. “I don’t inherit enemies,” he stated about his philosophy on relationships. He prefers to support everyone without causing trouble.

Before advocating for Stonebwoy’s Artiste of the Year win, he did not know him personally. However, after seeing what Stonebwoy achieved in 2024, he refunded clients' money from three weeks earlier.

Some clients were disappointed by this decision. Portfolio relocated to Accra to argue for Stonebwoy’s win and found success there.

After Stonebwoy won the TGMA 2024 Artiste of the Year trophy, Shatta Wale surprised Portfolio with a GHS5,000 cash gift on live TV. This act led to criticism against Portfolio for being disloyal to Stonebwoy.

Despite giving the money to the band and production crew later, critics remained unsatisfied. When asked about his current relationship with both artists, Portfolio said only they can define it; he cannot do so himself.
