Buzstop Boys Win GH₵30,000 at MTN Heroes of Change Award
The youth group Buzstop Boys received GH₵30,000. They won the Digital Hero Award at the 2025 MTN Heroes of Change finale. The group focuses on sanitation issues in Accra.
Heneba Kwadwo Sarfo is the founder and a civil engineer. He accepted the award during an event hosted by Berla Mundi. Buzstop Boys were recognized for their digital advocacy in environmental sanitation.
The cash prize will support their philanthropic projects. They have changed many Ghanaians' views on littering through social media campaigns. Their efforts aim to reduce flooding caused by clogged gutters.
Ten finalists were honored at the event. The overall award went to Dr. Angela Dwamena-Aboagye from the Ark Foundation, who received GH₵100,000. Buzstop Boys shared their gratitude on Instagram for public support.
They posted: "Thank you for voting us as Digital Hero! This win is for everyone who believes in cleaner streets." Many social media users congratulated them on their achievement.
Comments included praise for their hard work and impact on Ghana's environment. Supporters expressed pride and joy over their success.
Buzstop Boys has also registered as a limited liability company in Ghana. Their new name is Pro Buz Stop Boys (PoBSB). This change allows them to accept cleaning contracts officially.
Recently, they mourned the loss of a dedicated member. Heneba Kwadwo Sarfo spoke about how this affected the team deeply. Ghanaians shared heartfelt messages of condolence online.
