Mahama’s television channel for creatives is better than Bawumia’s streaming platform – Abeiku Santana

Radio and TV personality Abeiku Santana criticized the government-backed Ghana Music Xperience (GMX) streaming app, calling it ineffective and unlikely to succeed, much like the failed Ghana Post GPS.

He questioned the need for a Ghanaian streaming app, pointing to Nigeria’s thriving market, which lacks such a platform.

Abeiku instead endorsed former President John Mahama’s initiative for a dedicated television channel to support Ghanaian creatives, asserting it would be more effective in boosting the country’s tourism and creative arts sector.

He argued that Mahama's proposal offers a structured, impactful solution for promoting local content, unlike government initiatives he believes lack follow-through.
