The Avengers will return later than expected.
Disney has announced delays for the next two Marvel films. The first film is now over a year away.
Avengers: Doomsday will see Robert Downey Jr. return as Doctor Doom. Its release date has changed from May 1 to December 18, 2026.
The follow-up, Secret Wars, will come out on December 17, 2027. It was originally scheduled for May 2 that year.
These films have faced production issues. They underwent extensive reworking after Jonathan Majors was convicted of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
Both movies are directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. They also directed the previous two Avengers films: Infinity War and Endgame.
Endgame is the second-highest grossing film ever, earning $2.8 billion (£2.1 billion). No Marvel film has matched that success since then.
Recent releases like Thor and Black Panther sequels have been divisive. New entries like Eternals and Thunderbolts also received mixed reactions.
Next up is The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July. It will compete with a new Superman film from rival studio DC.
