Mawuli Semevo, a legend goes home today

The final burial rites for celebrated Ghanaian actor Mawuli Semevo will be held today, April 5, at 9:00 AM at the National Theatre in Accra.

His passing on February 20, due to injuries from a fire accident, sent shockwaves through the creative arts community.

A tribute event titled “Remembering Mawuli Semevo” was held on March 27 to honor his impactful career.

Semevo, who once served as the Director of the Drama Company at the National Theatre, was widely admired for his talent and dedication to the stage and screen.

His memorable performances in productions like Harvest at 17, A Stab in the Dark, Escape of Love, and The Good Old Days: The Love of AA remain a lasting part of Ghana’s theatrical legacy.
