Ghanaian teacher Morkporkpor Fiador's attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Marathon Reading Aloud has been postponed.
Initially scheduled for December 26, 2024, the event was delayed due to challenges including a lack of corporate sponsorship, insufficient funding, and limited government support.
Organizers, led by Team Secretary Edward Nketiah, cited the diversion of resources due to elections and unmet setup costs as key factors.
A new date will be announced following stakeholder consultations.
Fiador, a Field Engineer teacher with the Ghana Armed Forces, has a notable career in education, serving at institutions like Apam Presby and 5 BN Basic School.
The team expressed gratitude to supporters and optimism for future success.
