'Musicians Help Musicians': MUSIGA to launch initiative to care for musicians in need of healthcare

Musicians Help Musicians (MHM), an initiative by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), is set to launch a program aimed at providing healthcare support for musicians in need. This initiative addresses the pressing issue of inadequate access to medical care faced by many artists, particularly those who are elderly or struggling financially. The program will focus on offering assistance with medical bills and ensuring that musicians receive necessary healthcare services.

The launch event, scheduled for November 2023, will feature performances from various artists and aims to raise awareness about the challenges musicians encounter regarding health issues. MUSIGA President, Bice Osei Kuffour, emphasized the importance of supporting fellow musicians and highlighted that this initiative is a step towards fostering a more caring community within the music industry.

By creating a safety net for musicians in distress, MHM seeks to alleviate some of the burdens faced by artists who often lack adequate health insurance or financial resources. This initiative not only underscores the solidarity among musicians but also aims to improve their overall well-being and quality of life.
