The National Theatre of Ghana will hold a tribute event, “Remembering Mawuli Semevo,” on Thursday, March 27, to celebrate the life and legacy of the veteran actor and former Drama Company director.

Semevo, who passed away on February 20 due to complications from a fire accident, was widely respected for his contributions to theatre and film.

The event, scheduled for 6:30 pm at the National Theatre’s main auditorium, will bring together key figures in Ghana’s arts and culture industry. It will feature performances, tributes, and storytelling sessions to honour his impactful career.

Mawuli Semevo was known for his roles in productions such as Harvest at 17, A Stab in the Dark, Escape of Love, Like Cotton Twines, and The Good Old Days: The Love of AA. He also portrayed Baba Fakunle in the 2023 adaptation of The gods are not to blame.
