Ghanaian entrepreneur and Guinness World Record aspirant Afua Asantewaa has revealed how former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey, once discouraged her from pursuing a singing career.
Speaking on Accra FM, Afua recalled auditioning for Mentor, only for Okraku-Mantey to suggest she try beauty pageants instead.
She later placed second at *Miss Tourism*. Reflecting on the encounter, she reminded him of his past remarks when he visited her singathon booth.
Meanwhile, Afua also addressed speculation that she received gifts, including a V8 and an apartment, from the previous government. She denied the claims, stating she had funded her record attempt independently and was living in her own house.
