Oppressed musicians, citizens speaking after NPP’s defeat due to air of freedom – Musician

Veteran musician Rex Omar commented on the wave of public criticism against Akufo-Addo’s administration after the December 7 elections.

He noted that musicians like Criss Waddle, Medikal, and Manifest are now openly expressing their frustrations.

In an interview with Amansan Krakye, Rex Omar stated that there is now a sense of freedom allowing Ghanaians to speak without fear.

He contrasted this with Akufo-Addo’s tenure, where he claims dissent was met with threats and repercussions, unlike Mahama’s presidency, where criticism didn’t lead to victimization.

He added that fear of job loss and brutality previously silenced many citizens.
