Owusu Bempah clashes with Mensa Otabil over prophecy debate

Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah has fired back at Dr. Mensa Otabil over his claim that God no longer speaks to individuals through revelation.

Preaching to his congregation last Sunday, Owusu Bempah strongly opposed Otabil’s stance, questioning, “If God doesn’t speak to people, does He speak to animals?”* He criticized Otabil for allowing prophets to lead branches of his church while dismissing their divine connection.

Acknowledging Otabil’s influence, Bempah stated, *“You are a respected Bible teacher, but you cannot discredit prophetic ministries.”

The controversy follows Otabil’s sermon, where he argued that divine revelations ended with scripture. Owusu Bempah, however, insists that prophecy remains vital and that denying it undermines God’s continued communication with humanity.
