Ghanaian rapper M.anifest explained the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) loss in the December 7, 2024 election as dissatisfaction with the country's governance.
In a BBC interview, he noted citizens felt the country was being mismanaged.
When asked about the incoming government, he stressed the need for leadership to demonstrate accountability.
M.anifest referenced recent activism, highlighting youth protests and pensioner demonstrations as signs of growing public demand for accountability beyond elections.
Meanwhile, NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia conceded defeat to former President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) based on provisional results.
The Electoral Commission urged citizens to await official results.
