Police arrest Portable over alleged defamation

Portable Arrested by Kwara Police

The Kwara Police Command has arrested singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, known as “Portable.”

Police spokesman Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi released a statement about the arrest. It followed a petition from Mr. Okunola Saheed, also known as “Osupa.”

The petition includes serious allegations against Portable. These include criminal defamation, threats to life, and incitement. Other charges are character assassination and using abusive language.

Due to the seriousness of these allegations, police obtained an arrest warrant. This warrant was issued by a Magistrate Court in Ilorin.

On Saturday, April 13, 2025, police operatives went to Abeokuta, Ogun State. They apprehended Portable around 7:25 PM and brought him to Ilorin for investigation.

Upon arrival in Ilorin, police took his statement with legal representatives present. Portable is currently in custody and will be charged in court soon.

The “Zaazoo” singer had previously used a line associated with Osupa. This prompted Osupa's team to file a complaint against him.

Earlier, Portable insulted Osupa on social media, causing backlash online. He later apologized for his comments and blamed his temper for the incident.
