John Dumelo, the newly-elected MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, praised voters’ growing discernment in choosing leaders.
He criticized his opponent, Lydia Seyram Alhassan of the NPP, for allegedly offering inducements like food and money during the elections.
Dumelo credited his victory to hard work and the electorate’s preference for policies over handouts.
He noted that voters aren't easily swayed by gifts, stating, “You can’t fool the people all the time.”
Dumelo refrained from unethical tactics, focusing instead on addressing constituents' needs.
Representing the NDC, Dumelo won with 47,560 votes against Alhassan's 39,214.
