Polygamy is best form of marriage for Africa – Okey Bakassi

Nigerian comedian and actor Okey Bakassi sparked a debate on African marriages, claiming polygamy is better suited to the continent than monogamy.

Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, he argued that many people in monogamous marriages are unhappy and pretending.

Bakassi emphasized that polygamy permits multiple marriages simultaneously, while monogamy forces individuals to abandon one partner to be with another.

He believes polygamy aligns better with African societal realities, suggesting monogamy isn't working.
