President Mahama’s unique inauguration outfit and its significant meaning

President John Dramani Mahama’s inauguration on January 7, 2025, featured his symbolic choice of attire, reflecting his leadership values.

Eschewing the traditional suit, he wore a white Agbada with kente designs, incorporating Adinkra symbols rich in meaning.

These included Nyame Dua (purification and blessings), Sankofa (learning from the past), Gye Nyame (God’s supremacy), and Dwennimmen (strength and humility).

The symbols underscore Mahama's commitment to trustworthiness, growth, modesty, and divine guidance as he leads Ghana for the next four years.
