Ghanaian rapper Darlington Agyekum, popularly known as D-Cryme, has declared his candidacy for the President of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at the Methodist University.
In a social media post on April 7, 2025, he introduced his vision of "transformational leadership" focused on Transparency, Accountability, and Action. D-Cryme’s campaign promises include ten key pillars such as Academic Support, Student Welfare, Campus Safety, and Financial Support.
He emphasized his track record of impactful initiatives, like the Wall of Fame and the Digital Screen Initiative, as evidence of his commitment to innovation and inclusivity.
D-Cryme joins a growing trend of Ghanaian musicians running for student leadership roles, following in the footsteps of Samini at GIMPA and Guru at the University of Ghana.
