Afrobeats singer Rema’s “Calm Down” remix with Selena Gomez has reached over 1 billion views on YouTube, making it the most-viewed Nigerian song on the platform.

Released in 2022, the track also became the first Nigerian song to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify and achieved the same milestone in the U.S.

It peaked at No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and stayed on the chart for over a year, marking the highest-charting Afrobeats song in history.

Rema's global fame grew with headline shows in India and the Middle East, and the song earned him a 7x RIAA platinum certification and the 2023 VMAs award for Best Afrobeats.
