Kofi Adams, the Minister for Sports and Recreation, has made a promise. He will make the budget for the Black Stars’ FIFA World Cup qualifiers public.
The qualifiers are against Chad and Madagascar. Ghana won both games, boosting their chances of qualification. The team will continue their quest for the World Cup in September.
Adams explained that releasing the budget before the games could distract the team. He spoke to Asempa FM about this issue.
He stated, “The budget for the team will be made available.” He emphasized that there is nothing to hide from the public. However, he noted that caring for the national team is expensive.
Most players come from Europe, which adds to costs. Adams mentioned that people asked him to disclose the budget. He questioned what revealing it would do for the team's performance.
He added that some situations can distract players. Therefore, it's important to consider all factors before making decisions.
