Sam George and Kafui Danku Respond to Bimbo Ademoye's Complaint
Nigerian actress Bimbo Ademoye recently voiced a complaint. She addressed it to Kafui Danku, CEO of the National Film Authority, and Communications Minister Sam George. Bimbo expressed frustration over Ghanaian TV stations showing her movies without her consent.
In response, both Kafui Danku and Sam George assured her they would take action soon. They replied in the comments section of her post on social media.
Bimbo shared a video from socialite Miz Debbie, who criticized her complaint. Miz Debbie claimed Ghanaians were doing Bimbo a favor by airing her films. In her caption, Bimbo apologized to fans for addressing the issue publicly.
She acknowledged that sometimes it is necessary to speak out. "I apologize to my fans and family," she wrote. "Sometimes you gotta drop your crown and get dirty."
Bimbo thanked Ghanaian commentator Kobe Boujee for raising awareness about her situation. She noted that some people were ignorant about the issue and defended theft.
In her message, she urged Kafui Danku and Sam George to intervene. She described the unauthorized airing of her films as theft.
Bimbo tagged several Nigerian filmmakers in her plea for support. She emphasized that this matter needed resolution.
Sam George responded on Instagram, stating he would discuss the issue with his colleague minister responsible for television content. He assured Bimbo that Ghana respects intellectual property rights.
Kafui Danku also replied on Instagram, confirming they were working on a solution. She promised Bimbo would see definite actions in the coming weeks.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about intellectual property rights in film distribution between Nigeria and Ghana.
