Shatta Wale ‘catalysed’ the success of Excellent – Kojo Blak

Singer Kojo Blak credits Shatta Wale for boosting his song "Excellent."

He spoke to Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM's Ayekoo Ayekoo show. Shatta Wale mentioned him and played his song during live streams. This helped Kojo Blak gain a strong fanbase.

Kojo Blak said, “If someone like Shatta Wale loves a song, fans want to know the artist.” He has not met Shatta Wale in person but communicates with him by phone.

He expressed gratitude for the support from Ghanaian music legends. “The energy and warm reception I receive is remarkable!” he said happily.

"Excellent," released in December 2024, went viral in early 2025. In February, Shatta Wale featured Kojo Blak on a TikTok Live feed. He played "Excellent" and showed great fondness for it.

On May 10, Kojo Blak performed "Excellent" solo at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs). The song originally featured Kelvynboy.
