Speed Darlington Summoned by NAPTIP

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking (NAPTIP) has summoned Speed Darlington. His real name is Darlington Okoye. This follows his claims about having sexual relations with a minor.

Speed Darlington caused outrage on social media. A viral video showed him admitting to an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old girl. As a result, NAPTIP has called him in for questioning.

On Thursday, NAPTIP posted on X about the situation. They urged Mr. Okoye to respond to their invitation from May 28, 2025. The agency warned that failure to respond could lead to further action.

In their two-page summons, NAPTIP stated they want him to appear before them. They referenced certain videos circulating online where he allegedly admitted to sexual acts with an underage girl. Other archived videos also contain similar admissions and degrading comments about minors.

His video sparked backlash from Nigerians and authorities alike. The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) escalated the matter to NAPTIP.

In response, Speed Darlington released another video. He claimed his earlier comments were just a marketing stunt for his new song. He also apologized to anyone who felt upset by his statements.
