Social media is too loud for me, it's like a marketplace - Tulenkey

Ghanaian artist Tulenkey has shared why he limits his social media use.

He spoke with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz about this decision. He believes social media takes too much time and affects his sanity.

Tulenkey explained that notifications can be distracting. For example, when at work, a notification can pull your focus away. Many people keep notifications on for apps like WhatsApp.

He noted that responding to these distractions can take over seven minutes. This interruption makes it hard to concentrate fully.

As a result, Tulenkey has turned off all his notifications. He recognizes the negative impact social media can have on him.

In the morning, he keeps his phone on 'do not disturb' until noon. This is when he does most of his work.

He described social media as overwhelming and constantly in your face. It feels like entering a busy marketplace after being away from it. People often check their phones even during private moments, which prevents relaxation.

Currently, Tulenkey is promoting a new music project focused on men's mental health. His song titled 'Barima' is available on various online music platforms.
